This blog post is going to be slightly different as it’s going to be centred more around me than my work.

I’ve decided after a year and a half of working in industry, to pluck up the courage and go travelling in Australia. For me, the last four years has been all hands on deck from:

• Finishing multiple internships.

• Finishing film school with a 2.1.

• Directly going in to a year at my graduate job at Ember Television.

• Moving back to Manchester to work as an editor in MediaCity.

• Working freelance for various companies and my own clients.

Even though I’ve been extremely blessed with my career progression thus far, I’ve realised that I’ve not had chance to just step back and take a breather. This is ultimately the reason why I have decided to put my life & career in the UK on hold and move to Australia. I'm unsure how long I will be gone for and I have decided to just play things by ear and take things one step at a time whilst I'm away. I believe going out there, seeing new things and experiencing stuff that I wouldn’t get the opportunity to in the UK will inspire and influence me greatly both personally and as a filmmaker. And, even though all of this is great in theory, the truth is, I really don’t know what Australia has in store for me, but apparently that’s half the fun.

I do plan to continue collaborating with production companies and industry professionals along the way. I’ll also be taking a camera down under with me and plan to continue freelance design work with both recurring British and new Aussie clients, so please get in touch if you’re in need of visual marketing & design work.
